Celeb Twitter Round-Up: Mihlali Ndamase Hurls Serious Harassment Allegations

Influencer Mihlahi Ndamase has caused division among Twitter/X residents after claiming that she is the victim of harassment.

On Sunday, 18 January 2026, Ndamase shared the following statement to her Instagram account:

In it, the 29-year-old content creator accused a married man named Michael “Mike” Brits of stalking her in public spaces, and showing “obsessive and frightening” behaviour after she rejected his advances.

“At the same time, false and damaging stories about my life have been circulated through blogs and online platforms,” she wrote. “Some media publications repeated these allegations without verification.”

Ndamase is most likely referring to articles in which Brits was referred to as her boyfriend, whom she struck with a beer bottle in the midst of a spat back in September 2025. Brits opened up, then later withdrew, an assault case against her.

Other media pieces and online hearsay claim that Brits paid Ndamase R75 000 to hook up with him, but she refused to give in to his advances (while allegedly still pocketing the money).

Ndamase wrote that she plans to both work with law enforcement and pursue the legal route “to protect myself” in order to nip this Brits drama in the bud. She also reminded her fans and naysayers that “a woman does not owe access to her life, her body or her time because she was pursued”, nor does her status as an influencer equate to consent.

Over on Twitter/X, folks were left extremely divided over Ndamase’s statement. A few fans showed their support:

Others were less than kind, accusing her of not refunding Brits’ alleged payment and calling her unflattering terms:

Then, there were the folks who couldn’t believe that someone would cough up R75 000 just for a hook-up:

Meanwhile, users like @Victori98500419 and @ZikhaliBandile offered their opinions, reminding us that there’s two sides to every story, and that there may be more at play when it comes to Ndamase and Brits:

As for Brits himself, he posted to his Instagram Stories:

Goodness knows who’s right and who’s wrong in this situation. All we know is that it’s exhausting even trying to figure it out!

That, and it’s a staunch, two-point reminder that more strides need to be made towards protecting women in South Africa, while also recognising that when things get blown out of proportion, we need to wait on the proper authorities to clear things up before offering our two cents’ worth.
